In Defence of The Hoarder
The Rules of the Game:
Round One: Find objects I’ve hidden around the house which I don’t want in my room but refuse throw away. Cover these in clay and replace.
Round Two: Remove and dip every object in my bathroom which does not get used on a weekly basis. Return all of these objects to my bathroom and photograph.
Round Three: On Sunday, set up a recording camera then shower and prepare myself using the uncovered objects as usual.
For the first three rounds all objects will be photographed with a point and shoot camera found in a crammed drawer among many out of date devices. This should be done as a quick act of documentation, in a similar manner, one would if they were moving homes and wanted to remember everything they had.
The Podium: Take a photo of the preexisting podium with family objects. Take all of these objects down. Replace these with the dipped objects in any manner. This display will remain here until someone stumbles upon them.
The Reunion: Images printed out, dropped in sink, labelled and thrown onto gallery floor for display
